"It's not very often that I can be "wowed" with a first read through, but I have to say, by the time I got to the end, I looked like this → :-o. There was no problem getting into the story right away. I was thrown into the storyline from the first few paragraphs...awesome writing!"

- Lornda

"...nice story...I really did enjoy descriptions...I look forward to reading more of your stories."

- Joseph Gonzalez

"One can tell that [K. Michael's] been influenced a little (or a lot maybe) by Stephen King and D. R. Koontz...I just hope this doesn't give me nightmares...story is well written with a flow that quickly grabs the reader..."

- Sum1

"It's well written and I followed along perfectly..."

- Annwid

"Intriguing short story, but it wasn't this tiny tale that made me want to continue this series, it was the preview for the next story that got my attention. Heck ya' I'll be reading more!"

"I like what I read, but it's only an excerpt from the book, 10 pages."

"Chapter Only...

This was descriptive and good..."

"Great horror read...

Found my self squirming and uneasy from beginning to end. Loved all of the unknown, it allows the reader to pour themselves into the character, creating a visceral fear."

"This book well written but was too brief. I would have enjoyed more of what exactly this whole thing was about."

"To describe this book as "unsettling" would be an understatement -

Ok, well that was super creepy and disturbing!

"The Patient" by K. Michael is a short (9 page) introduction to an upcoming book series. This short narrative describes an unfortunate man (we never learn his name) as he wakes up strapped to a hospital bed with a very unsettlingly large needle in his arm (pumping him full of who knows what and for what purpose)! The man cannot remember what happened to him and attempts to free himself before his unknown captors come back. The ending was truly unsettling and will have readers anxious to know what happens next!

Great introduction to the series, can't wait for the next book!"

"What can I say this is very short, very easy to read. But of course it leaves you with a lot of questions. So I am hoping this is the start of a other story? Maybe?"

"Great, very freaky story, lol. I'm looking forward to part 2!"

"This short story kept me guessing the whole way, definitely a creepy read. It was good, but it left me wanting for more, I'd like to see a follow up!"

"This short story plays off fears we already have- hospitals and needles and whatnot. That’s part of what makes it so effective as a horror story, taking something that you already hate and making it SO MUCH WORSE. The author does this well, and I definitely have him to thank for creeping me out now! The story was a little bit short, so I’m very excited to see what’s going to happen next! Looking forward to the next installment."

"I thought the story left out to many details and was incomplete. I know it might have been intentional. But I wanted to know who was this guy? Why was he there? Who took him? What were they doing to him? What was in the IV? Where were they at? Was this supposed to be the future? To many questions for my taste. It got me intrigued and majorly left me hanging.

UPDATE: According to the Author this book is a prelude to a more in-depth story. As I said in my previous rate it was an intriguing story. So I look forward to all the answers in an upcoming book and I will change my 2 star rating to a 5 star rating based on this information. With the intention of getting hooked on more info you succeeded with flying colors."

"Very unexpected and very descriptive. As a horror story it did it's job, I got a little queasy at the description of the needle. Great!!"
