Why is it that I spend every morning
convincing myself that everything
will be okay?
Everything will be okay.
Everything will be okay.

Why is it that every time I need space,
everyone is calling me, needing
my company?
Everything will be okay.
Everything will be okay.

Will everything be okay?
I try and tell myself it will, but I don't know if
I believe the things I say...
It's never been not-okay.
It's gotten kind of rough at times, but every time I
always seem to find my way.

Every now and again, I just can't cope.
The doctors, probing, all prescribe this dope:
"To be okay."
Everything will be okay.
"It'll be okay," they say.

And if it turns out okay,
would any of us recognize it, if it hit us
like a ray upon the face?
And would we know how to say
that we don't need their help anymore—giving us these
superficial happy days?

Why is it, that at times, I cannot sleep?
Alarms beeping, when dreams are peaking won't
keep this at bay.
Tell myself to be okay.
Everything will be okay.

There was a time when we all were happy,
and we'll find happiness again when we
are all okay.
Gotta make ourselves okay.
Gotta make ourselves okay.

It's never been not-okay,
but it's taken every part of me to part with all these
reasons to feel out-of-place.
It takes some time, every day,
to strip away the nervousness and stress, and prep this
messiness for its display.

...And should the good feelings pass,
and all the stubbornness of sadness blasts its way back,
shattering your toasting-glass...
Remember, you're still okay;
That sometimes life is funny, but the running is what
makes us who we are today...

And:
Everything will be okay, yeah.
Everything will be okay.
Everything will be okay. Say,
"Everything will be okay."

I absolutely agree with the reflections expressed in this free verse. Highs and lows are common on the road of life. Just as you have said,
"That sometimes life is funny, but the running is what
makes us who we are today..."
Despite bumps and bruises, life is meant to get going, not stopping and letting depression and disappointment rule. That would be living death.

Suffering from problems of aging, health, failure and disillusion should be taken as challenges to our mental strength and positive attitude. It is in this regard the poet's mantra comes in handy and helpful.
"Everything will be okay. Say,
"Everything will be okay."

In our culture from India, there is a saying, which means, with a smile, you can grow crops even in arid plains and rocky soil.

This poem flows well with appealing imagery and positive energy.

"The lyrics written in plain language somewhat lengthy.Your style also is old fashioned with an over explanation of the activities of dally living. Of course, either we try to comfort or fool ourselves by telling everything will be fine when it is not always true. The word okay is short but it has many implications. Do you really think 'every thing will be OK?"
