My Courage

Average Rating

I cut the course of silence
with a blade of grass.

Swaying in the breeze, I thought
the memory might pass.

But in the death of hist'ry,

a tale foretold came true,
and with it, withered underneath,

the sourness of dew.

I took the edge and swallowed
a thought I might have had,

before the trail of wonderings

could make the memory bad.

And in the silent current,

I waded through the dark,

until I found inside of me

the entrails of a spark.

"This is a fantastic poem you've written here. It flows extremely well, has great word usage, the rhymes don't at all feel forced whatsoever, and I absolutely love the atmosphere and message of it. It also stands out in a way from other poems I've read(I don't know why, but it just has a special something to it). Brilliant piece! :)"

"In a short poem in time to thank the author
no need to make it longer it is beautiful,
little metaphor on overcoming trials
waded through the dark.

And in this silent current
my thoughts to swim to safety,
then wading through the darkness
along the trails of wondering why me.

Being reviewed by embe in the scene,
lovely for [Koda] - Simply Positive Review."
