Some of us must hit rock-bottom

before we find the strength

to climb again.

 

I know,

you have wings, and you

coast downward easily—

(Flap.) and

rise again.

 

I see you there,

from my position on the wall,

but I—

I cannot watch you

for too long—

(Crunch.) for

(My own weight is challenging

my grip on this rocky face.)

I am not learning

how to fly.

 

I already knew

how to fall—

(Crack.) and I

just left that place,

climbing.
